Editorial & Testing Standards
How TeeClear distinguishes beginner guidance, official sources and real equipment testing.
Last updated
Readers should be able to see what a guide is based on and what it can reasonably tell them.
Who prepares this content
The TeeClear team maintains this interest-driven educational project and makes its guides available free of charge for learning and public-interest education. We collect and compare sources, organize beginner questions and revise the guides as evidence changes.
We use AI assistance in content preparation and for some clearly labelled illustrative scenes. Those scenes are fictional teaching illustrations, not original course photographs or product-testing evidence. Source checking and editorial decisions remain separate from independent professional review.
Sources and rules review
Rules guides link official resources and distinguish research dates from editorial publication decisions. Source checking and editorial approval do not mean independent expert review; no professional rules-official endorsement is claimed.
Before publishing detailed scenarios, we require research and cross-checking, a precise scenario, format of play, rule version, specific official clauses, relevant Local Rule conditions and editorial publication confirmation. A named reviewer or third-party professional review is not a mandatory publication condition. Etiquette and beginner suggestions must be labelled separately.
Equipment evidence
Specification profiles must identify the exact model, version, region, source and date. Hands-on reports describe equipment actually used. Performance tests require disclosed conditions, sampling decisions and retained measurements.
We have not published hands-on reviews or performance tests in this version. We do not claim that equipment is longer, straighter or more forgiving without supporting evidence.
Commercial disclosure
No affiliate purchase links or sponsored rankings have been added to this version. If affiliate links are introduced, the relevant page will explain the commission relationship before readers encounter those links.
Future reviews must disclose whether equipment was purchased, borrowed or supplied and identify commercial relationships.
Corrections and accountability
Substantive corrections should identify what changed and update the affected guide. The site is operated by the TeeClear team; a monitored correction contact has not yet been configured. Author credentials are stated only when verified; a named rules-review partner is optional.
This site does not currently offer a correction submission form.
